"Beer Grown Here"
That's right! Along with growing hops I also grow and malt my own barley. Out of approximately 175 New York State Breweries, less than 5% malt their own barley. Less than 3 Breweries also grow their own barley. I'm happy to be part of this elite group! Check out the 'How to Malt' page for more info.

Hop Harvesting!

It's that time of year again and the hop plants need to be harvested so I can use them in my brews.

These are Chinook hops that will be used in an IPA I'm brewing this week.

Approved by the Liquor Authority!!

After several months of playing the waiting game we finally got the approval from the NYS Liquor Authority for our brewery!! Now all we have left is to pass our Ag and Markets inspection (kind of like a health inspection).

Progress Update

Henneberg Brewing Co. has received approval from the Federal Alcohol and Tobacco Tax and Trade Bureau and approval for our labels.

We are currently still waiting on Approvals from:
-New York State Liquor Authority (but I talked to them the other day and it sounds like paperwork is coming along)
-The Health Dept
-Madison County Ag. and Markets

Here are a few picture updates:

Me in the hop field, they are growing very well.

My chickens love eating the spent grains from brewing and the hops love the chicken "fertilizer".

We are currently growing 3 acres of barley. The barley is almost ready to be harvested.

Baby hop clipping that will be in the ground soon.

Hop clipping that were planted and will be in the hop yard next spring.

Keep checking in regularly for updates.
